Credit card debt sucks!

Getting Rid Of Debt Is Not Only A Financial Decision It Is A Lifestyle Choice

Are you one of the millions who have been hit hard by the recent financial decline? You are certainly not alone. Some weeks, it seems as if you get your paycheck, only to sign it and hand it all over to someone else.

Others are with you, and feeling the pinch too. The situation is not hopeless; even if it may seem to be right now. Getting out of debt is something you must make a priority in order to make your life much brighter.

Turning your finances around is within your reach and the only obstacle you will face which can stop you in achieving your dream is you. It will take some time, as it will not happen over night. Real life just doesn’t work that way. It will also take some work on your part, and it will require you to make decisions and commitments you may not want to stick to for the long haul.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that it is totally within your reach, and in your control. You will need to discipline yourself to not use your credit cards, and only buy the things you need with cash on hand. Did you catch that last part? Buy only the things you need, and not the things you want. Put yourself on a strict “buy as needed” regimen until you have eliminated a good portion of your debt. Then, you will have earned the right to spend a little bit of money on some type of splurge purchase.

Take stock of what you are paying monthly. Keep a list of the bills you pay, so that you can weed out the things you do not need. Some of the things you can let go of are higher cable packages, monthly gym charges, monthly subscriptions and if you like to party it up on the weekend, it’s time to stop until you pay something off. If you like to go out on the weekends, you are probably burning through a good portion of money each month. This is now bill money, with no exceptions. Don’t worry, your friends will understand.

If you own a cell phone and a land line phone, drop the land line and put that money to the bills. You don’t need a land line phone if you have a decent cell phone plan. If you take note of how much you use the land line, you will agree that is a waste of money if you own a cell phone.

Compare credit cards carefully, low or 0% interest cards are the best options.

If you make the effort in getting rid of debt, you will be rewarded with not only a peace of mind you have forgotten, but you will also get more out of life. You can have more money to do with what you want, and not be paying it in interest to other people. This way, you will be working for you, and not a bunch of finance companies.
